Although the forecast was good, and the day started well, the weather deteriorated as the race was to get underway and the wind picked up steadily as it progressed. It was a 30km north wester gusting 40 and annoyingly changed from a tailwing at the turn can to a side wind so you could not even enjoy a good surf back. Testing but fun conditions nevertheless. There was a fun relay race later and then it started to rain so we all repaired back to the shop for boerie rolls and the end of series prizegiving.
